Have you ever wanted to visit a place but haven’t had the time or the money? Maybe you're planning a trip but don’t feel excited enough by the wordy guidebook? Perhaps you did visit, but came away thinking you missed too much?


If you fall into any of these groups then our interactive virtual tours are just the thing for you! Virtual tours give you the closest feeling to actually being there as we think you can get. Each panoramic image is accompanied by informative and interesting text and audio voice-overs which ensure you will nothing. Still images are sometimes also used to enhance the tour. One almost unique feature of our virtual tours is that the scenes are all on an easy to retrace path – this is a huge help if you ever come to visit the location. We’re pretty sure there will be no getting lost with our virtual tours!

Saturday 16 October

We've now uploaded some work-in-progress virtual tours from our Edinburgh Old Town virtual tour, our Walls of Chester virtual tour, our Chester Virtual Explorer virtual tour. We've also included tours from our completed Waverley virtual tour CD-ROM and our Walls of Old Edinburgh virtual tour.

Saturday 25 October

Panoramic image slideshows have been added to the bottom of each virtual tour page. This gives you a few of the locations featured in the actual tour. We've also begun to add links to online versions of the tours. These online virtual tours aren't active yet so please bear with us.

The 'Community pages' - WAYN, Twitter etc are included but no content is on them yet. Next week they should be up and running.

Explore Our Virtual Tour Collection Today!

Our new website will be extended and developed over the coming months as we strive to make this one of the leading hubs for anyone interested in the history of any of the locations covered by our virtual tours.

As you'd expect from an Edinburgh based company, many of our virtual tours explore some of the history behind Scotland's wonderful Capital city. Our current line-up of Edinburgh virtual tours consist of the Virtual Greyfriars, Old Town of Edinburgh and the Walls of Old Edinburgh virtual tours. Over the next year we will be rolling out a whole host of high quality, interactive tours which will let you explore Edinburgh, York, Chester, Lindisfarne, the Kingdom of Fife, Linlithgow and Stirling.

At Actual Education we only work on places which we are interested in and passionate about. We hope that this come across in our comprehensive virtual tours.
